Knuckle Boom Lift Hire and Sales in Sydney and Brisbane

In the world of high-access work, height is only half the battle. While a standard scissor lift offers exceptional platform space for vertical tasks, true efficiency in complex environments often requires the ability to navigate over rooftops, between structural beams, or into recessed spaces.

Uphire’s range of knuckle boom lifts, also known as articulating boom lifts, offers versatile up-and-over reach that standard telescopic boom lifts cannot provide. Whether you are managing an industrial maintenance project in Brisbane, a high-density construction build in Sydney, or a coastal infrastructure upgrade in Wollongong, our fleet ensures your team is positioned with absolute precision.

The Uphire Advantage: Security & Intelligence

Selecting a hire partner involves more than choosing equipment. At Uphire, we integrate advanced security and telemetry into our fleet to help keep your project on schedule and within budget.

Our exclusive Pin Code Access system eliminates the common site headache of unauthorised machine usage. By requiring a unique code to operate, we ensure that only your qualified personnel are behind the controls.

Furthermore, our machines are equipped with Real-Time Telemetry. This allows your team and our technical team to monitor engine health and GPS location remotely. This proactive approach means we can often diagnose and resolve minor issues before they lead to significant downtime, keeping your productivity at its peak.

Elevated Work Platforms to Suit Your Environment

Each job site presents unique challenges. We maintain a diverse inventory of power sources and reach capabilities to meet both your indoor and outdoor applications. While we often provide forklifts and telehandlers to manage material movement at ground level, our knuckle booms handle the intricate personnel access that projects often need.

  • Electric Knuckle Booms: These units are the ideal solution for indoor maintenance and noise-sensitive environments like shopping centres and hospitals. Featuring non-marking tyres and a zero-emission electric motor, they offer a compact footprint for navigating tight spaces and narrow aisles.
  • Diesel 4WD Knuckle Booms: Designed for uneven ground and harsh conditions, these rough-terrain units offer high ground clearance and oscillating axles for demanding steel erection and infrastructure projects.
  • Hybrid & Bi-Energy Models: For projects that transition between the exterior shell and the interior fit-out, hybrid models offer the best of both worlds. Use the electric motor for quiet indoor work and switch to diesel for outdoor travel and rapid charging.

Committing to Site Safety

Safety is the foundation of everything we do. All Uphire equipment is maintained to the highest Australian safety standards, specifically AS 2550.10, ensuring that every unit arrives on-site in peak condition.

It is important to note that any knuckle boom with a platform height exceeding 11 metres requires the operator to hold a valid High Risk Work Licence (WP Class). For smaller units, an EWPA Yellow Card is the industry standard.

If your team requires certification, we can facilitate the necessary EWP training to ensure everyone on your site is compliant and safe.

The Uphire Difference

We understand that every project has specific needs and tight timelines. To ensure your experience is as seamless as possible, we offer a suite of specialised services designed to keep your site moving safely and efficiently across the Greater Sydney, Hunter, and Illawarra regions.

  • In-House Transportation: We don’t rely on third-party couriers. Our dedicated fleet of tilt-trays and low-loaders ensures that your access equipment arrives on-site exactly when you need it, managed by drivers who understand the machinery.

  • 24/7 Customer Service: Construction doesn’t always fit into a nine-to-five schedule. Our expert support and service teams are available around the clock to assist with troubleshooting or emergency enquiries.

  • Free On-Site Inspections: If you are unsure which machine is right for a restricted-access area, our experts will visit your site in Sydney, or Brisbane at no cost. We evaluate the terrain and reach requirements to recommend the most cost-effective access solution.

  • Yellow Card Training: Compliance is non-negotiable. We provide EWPA-accredited Yellow Card training to ensure your operators are fully certified and confident in operating articulating booms under 11 metres.

Knuckle Boom Lift FAQs

How do I formally end my hire and stop billing?

Billing remains active until you formally notify us of the “Off-Hire.” You must contact us via phone or email to receive an Off-Hire Number. Once issued, rental charges stop, and we will coordinate the collection of the machine from your site.

All diesel units are delivered with a full tank. As part of a dry hire agreement, you are required to return the unit full. If returned with a partial tank, a refuelling service fee and the current fuel cost will be added to your invoice.

Our hire agreements are tied to the delivery address provided. If your project moves to a new site, please notify us so we can update the agreement and arrange professional transport to the new location.

While we provide the machine’s risk assessment, you are legally required to have a site-specific Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) for high-risk work. We can provide any technical machine specifications your safety officer needs to complete this.
