The highly profiled NSW Government project “The Sydney Fish Market” is due to be completed in 2025.
This enormous redevelopment has a price tag of $800m. Aside from the price tag, the Sydney Fish Market (SFM) design is unique and eye catching with the top of the roof giving the appearance of fish scales.
Stowe Australia were successful in their the electrical bid and were involved with the project well before the fences went up for construction.

Uphire and Stowe Australia have had an ongoing strong working relationship for many years, when it came to quoting and tendering this project our owner and Managing Director Nigel McKinley introduced Uphire’s new telemetry system.
Hire companies get a lot of issues that can be resolved over the phone. All machines provided to SFM site have CAN data so we can see exactly what is happening with each machine in real time. This reduces the down time in the event of a breakdown and we can see exactly what’s going on with the machine. We can diagnose and fix most issues over the phone.
The other key feature to look for is the keypad access, keypad access if chosen to be used only will operate with your own personalised pin code. So gone are the days when you come back to site the next morning and your machine isn’t anywhere to be seen, has no fuel or battery is flat and left at the other end of the job, or machine has damage that wasn’t there last time you used it. These issues are now a thing of the past, where each user can have their own unique PIN.
Telemetry allows you to see how long the machine has been in use. If you’ve got 10 hour days, minus your breaks, you know exactly how long the machine should be operating for as it is not just key switch activated machine, we can tell once the machine is out of in stowed position without authorisation. This technology gives you the ability to ensure that job productivity is being achieved.
